Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase a raffle entry. Only one (1) individual may be identified as the purchaser (or buyer) of the raffle entry. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Entries may be purchased via internet or by calling the Academy (Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm EST) at (540) 361-7007. We will use your Paypal receipt number as your Ticket confirmation number, which will be emailed to all purchasers at the email address provided during the purchase or sent by U.S. Postal Service to the address provided at the time of purchase. All email communication, including the email ticket confirmation, will be sent to the email address provided during the purchase. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide a valid, deliverable email address to Mariamante Academy and its agents, Board, vendors, volunteers and members assume no liability for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, or undelivered entries, or entries without proper payment received, which entries shall be deemed invalid and shall be immediately disqualified. By entering the raffle, the purchaser acknowledges that he or she is aware of and agrees with the raffle official rules. The following rules and regulations form an agreement between Mariamante Academy, the owner of the Golf Charity Raffle, and YOU. Please read them carefully. You do not have to sign the Agreement for it to be in effect. By registering and purchasing a raffle ticket, you indicate your full acceptance and understanding of these rules and regulations. Charity raffle laws vary by state and country. It is the responsibility of a player to ensure that her or she understands and complies fully with any applicable laws or regulations in his or her own state or country. Mariamante Academy is not responsible for any liability a customer may incur by participating in the Golf Charity Raffle. Customer shall hold the sponsors and publishers of this web site, its licensees, distributors, wholesalers, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion or other agencies, media partners and retailers harmless and shall indemnify the same against any legal ramifications whatsoever that may arise as a result of customer’s entry, use, or reuse of the Web site, and the material contained herein, and/or participation in the Mariamante Academy Golf Charity Raffle.

Winner Selection
Each raffle will remain open until all available tickets have been purchased. When the last ticket for a specific raffle has been purchased, that raffle will be closed. The winning ticket number will be selected via a random drawing from all available entries at the location of the Academy, 1501 Washington Avenue, Fredericksburg, VA 22404. The drawing shall be held on the next business day following the close of the raffle and the purchase of the last remaining ticket. The accounting firm of McCann and Associates will officiate over the winning entry and certify the name of the winning purchaser. The winner of each raffle will be notified, via telephone, fax, e-mail, and U.S. Postal Service mail, of their win within 24 hours of the selection. Additionally, the name and number of the winner will remain posted on the Mariamante Academy Raffle winner’s page for a minimum of thirty (30) days.

Drawings
A maximum of 5000 entries will be sold for the Golf Raffle. The drawing shall be held on the next business day following the close of the raffle and the purchase of the last remaining ticket. Mariamante Academy reserves the right not to accept entries at its discretion.

Return and Cancellation Policy
ALL purchases of raffle entries are non-refundable.

Refunds and Cancellations
Mariamante Academy reserves the right to cancel any raffle. In the event a particular raffle does not “close” (all available tickets have not been sold in a reasonable time), participants of that raffle shall have the option of receiving a full refund or transferring their ticket(s) to a different raffle.

Prizes
The odds of winning a prize are dependent upon the number of valid entries received, but shall not be greater than 1 in 5000. The statement of 1 in 5000 chance to win a prize is based on the purchase of a single ticket, 5000 total tickets being sold, and each ticket being eligible for the drawing. In the event of a winning ticket having more than one name, Mariamante will award the prize to the first name listed on the entry. Records of Mariamante Academy shall be deemed correct if there is a discrepancy. Mariamante Academy is not responsible for resolving any disputes that may arise from different individuals listed on a raffle certificate. With proper transfer documents bearing notarized signatures, as required by the Raffle, the prize may be transferred.

Prize Definition
All “prizes” awarded will be a credit in the amount of the stated prize value, purchased by Mariamante Academy Inc., at the Golf Vacation Resort broker selected by Mariamante Academy on behalf of the raffle winner. Once the credit has been transferred from Mariamante Academy Inc. to the specified Golf Vacation Resort broker or dealer, the winner will use the credit as they wish, as it will be their property. Images or graphics used in the Mariamante Academy Charity Golf Raffle site to represent the prize may not necessarily represent the actual prize the winner will choose to receive. As previously stated, all prizes are credits that the winner may allocate at their own discretion.

Notification of Winners
All winners will be notified in writing or by telephone of the prize won and any required procedure to claim the prize. Winners of all prizes shall have forty-five (45) calendar days from notification of winning to inform Mariamante Academy Inc. of their choice to accept the prize, accept the cash alternative, or select any other offered alternatives. The winner’s name and location by city, town, or state may be emailed to all entrants and may also be posted on this website. If a selected winner cannot be contacted or located after a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days from the drawing of any raffle, the prize or its cash equivalent will be deemed to have been donated to Mariamante Academy Inc. for use by its charitable foundation. All contact attempts shall be made to the address and phone number and email address provided by the raffle entry purchaser. All winners, by entering, authorize Mariamante Academy Inc. to publish their name and likeness on the website and for it to be used in other promotional materials by Mariamante Academy Inc.

Taxes and IRS Rules
All winners shall be responsible for any and all federal, state, and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the prizes. All cash prizes will be paid net of applicable income tax withholding. The IRS requires that income tax withholding on prizes valued at $5,100 or greater must be paid upon award and distribution. Government rules governing withholding can change without notice. The Golf Charity Raffle will follow the rules in effect at the time the prizes are awarded. The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries or similar program are not gifts and, therefore, are not deductible charitable contributions. Check with your qualified financial adviser for additional information.

Waiver/Limitations of Liability
Entry purchasers, by participating (and winners, by accepting a prize) release Mariamante Academy, Inc. and its respective board, committee members, volunteers, partners, vendors, agents, representatives, sponsors, service agencies and independent contractors, and each of their respective directors, officers, partners, employees and agents, including advertising, public relations, direct marketing and promotion agencies, from any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion and possession or use of the prize(s) awarded and also acknowledge that they did not receive any representations, warranty, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness. Any liability of Mariamante Academy shall be limited to ticket price paid and in the case of any dispute, Mariamante Academy’s decision shall be final.
